POETRY OF THE WEEK
" Petals Of Sorrow "
Vinod Rajasingam
Age:13
Malaysia
We were like brothers, the both of us.
I'm sorry for what I did.
The tip of my bayonet dug deep into your veins,
I took out your heart, the price of your life,
And along with me, I carried your inner essence.
I extinguished like a fire, your hopes and ambitions.
I'm sorry for what I did.
We were part of a family,
Separated by creed and nationality,
But mostly this unfortunate war.
Petals of sorrow streamed past my cheeks.
We were like brothers, the both of us.
Guilt struck my unclear conscience as I reminisced your dying words,
"Nations don't lose in war, emotions like Love do."
I'm sorry for what I did.
