POETRY OF THE WEEK
" Gift From Above "
BY: Ashley Bartlett
Longwood, FL
To the muse of my heart
I've been granted a Gift
Like no one before.
Words pour through me,
that I can't ignore.
I can feel someone there,
a beautiful calm before the storm.
Across a snowy white land
trees of dark line the stage.
My fingers weave a spell,
freeing all from its cage.
Sweetness that I hear,
who are you, please come near.
A woman of beauty,
passion, and love
She tells me He sent her,
a one from Above.
She fills me with life, love,
passion, and inspiration.
Teach me to write more,
the muse of my nation.

TALENT OF THE WEEK
Amazing April
(Age: 15, Aldershot, United Kingdom) This Storypage written by Natasha Poholka.
Sarah Williams is a 15-year-old soprano, from England. Music was always a very huge part of her life.
Sarah was only 5-years-old when her primary school's music teacher, Mrs. Messer, realized her amazing
talent and offered her the lead role in the school's Christmas production of "Finlo. " Her parent's were
then immediately advised, after the outstanding and immensely talented performance of their young
daughter that they should immediately arrange for private voice lessons with the famous English soprano
Sarah Poole.
Those years have gone fast for Sarah and since then she has been examined by “the Royal Associated Board
of the Royal Schools of Music" five times and has passed with flying colours. Sarah is now studying for
her last three grades. In 2001, Sarah decided to enter, "the A & F Competitive Festival of Music and Art."
In the end, she came home with two trophies, three distinctions, and one merit first award. In 2002,
Sarah entered again and received the same awards, plus another trophy. Every year Sarah enters she gets
better. And obviously the judges see that. You can't get better than first! The judges were "wowed" by
her great talent. In 2003, she won the same awards again, which is so incredible that she got the same
awards all three times.
To date she has a grand total of 11 certificates, eight trophies, all in the short space of only three
years. Sarah has high hopes for next year where she hopes to do event better. Sarah is very lovely because
she doesn't spend time criticizing what could have been better; she just puts her heart into what's next,
which is a very worthy trait.
